Telecommunication solutions for healthcare – Doctor's surgery

Auerswald provides the best formula for practising doctors

"It is hard to imagine how difficult it would be to organise the practice without our new PBX – a COMpact 5200R. Now, when a patient calls, their file opens on the computer monitor automatically. Patients also appreciate that they can get through straight away, because there is effectively no longer a 'busy' response. Things such as opening the door or adjusting the answering machine don't require any further action and there is no need for an additional device to make announcements in the waiting and treatment room. The COMfortel 2600 IP that we have in reception easily takes care of this. Thanks to the connected cameras, it also provides an overview of both waiting rooms. With the constant change from one treatment room to the next, the cordless DECT telephones, together with the base station COMfortel WS-500S, ensure that everyone can still be reached and, where this is not possible from time to time during a treatment, then the personal voice mailbox takes over. All in all, we have not only become easier to contact and thus more flexible, but significantly less time is being spent on administrative tasks. I also find it particularly convenient that the door intercom – also from Auerswald – can switch over to the mobile telephone and can be programmed in such a way that an announcement is played back. And if an emergency call is needed – thankfully a rare occurrence – I can rely on the system, even to interrupt an incoming call."

Telecommunication solutions for healthcare – Nursing and residential homes

FONtevo offers greater vitality for nursing and residential homes

Employees: 17

"Some of our residents are still very sprightly but others are dependent on support for every movement. Consequently, simple communication systems that the patient or the nurse, who is often under time pressure, can control intuitively are in demand. Our nurse call system, which is connected to an alarm server (RedOne) from point omega, is therefore very important. Although we are well equipped to provide first aid, it is often necessary to make emergency calls. So it's comforting to know that such emergency calls always take priority for the PBX – we have invested in a highly scalable COMtrexx soft PBX solution - such emergency calls always have priority. Through the certification of COMtrexx on the part of point omega, the IP desktop telephones can be linked to almost all common patient call systems via the professional point omega alarm servers. This system integration allows a wide variety of communication tasks to be handled centrally via the same end devices - from calling patients to answering bell or nurse calls to providing emergency service information via the door intercom system. This provides enormous relief as well as increased efficiency in our sometimes very hectic daily work routine.”

Telecommunication solutions for healthcare – Private clinic

Auerswald supports discretion and efficiency in private clinics

Employees: 23

"A clinic cannot depend on a good medical reputation alone. Today, efficiency is just as important for the successful running of a clinic as providing optimal care to patients. When choosing our PBX, there were therefore two decisive criteria: it must support both medical operations and administrative processes. We chose a COMmander 6000RX – it controls the nurse call system via the connected alarm server, acts as a switchboard, keeps an eye on the entrance and even helps with invoicing. In practice, it is as though the PBX manages bookings, writes invoices, creates statistics... and incidentally happens to ensure that internal and external telephony also function reliably. Every employee has a cordless telephone (COMfortel M-720) that provides direct access to the switchboard functions such as operating the door opener, for example. Extremely important to us: cleaning using disinfectant can't damage this robust telephone. There is also a COMfortel 2600 IP in every department as this telephone can display images from all of the surveillance cameras on the premises. On the other hand, a modest COMfortel 600 is more than sufficient for consulting rooms, providing a convenient way to make phone calls. All devices from one manufacturer – I am positive that this was a very wise decision."
