DECT Manager redundancy

If the number of errors increases (base stations log off from the DECT Manager), the redundancy base takes over the DECT Manager role and the system continues to run stable.

Support for MS Teams

WS-500 can connect directly with Microsoft Teams.

Multiple simultaneous calls

A user in a call can put the call on hold to make or receive other calls. A user can also conference two calls

Do not disturb

A user can set do not disturb on the device so that the device will not ring for incoming calls. This has no impact on the user’s status on all other Teams endpoints

Hold/Resume and Mute/Unmute

A user can hold and resume or mute and unmute a call by using the features for those actions on the device

Voicemail

Users can listen to electronically stored voice messages that callers leave for them

Message waiting indicator

Users can receive notifications that alert them when they have new voicemail messages

Sign-in and sign-out

Users can sign in and sign out of Teams

Requirements

Microsoft

• A license for Phone System (via E5 or a standalone license)
• PSTN enablement (i.e., a phone number) via a Microsoft Teams Calling Plan, Direct Routing, or Operator Connect

• A WS-500S/M with software 2.52 or higher

• No extra licenses are needed

Licence update as an online process

Previously, licences could only be uploaded to the system as a file (via the 'Browse' button). If the PBX has access to the Internet, a direct comparison with the licence server can now be initiated with the 'Refresh' button. This synchronisation runs automatically every 24 hours with a log (date/time) of when the last connection to the server was. This function is also interesting when licences are swapped or disabled.

Waiting time for firmware updates

Until now, the update started immediately. Now a waiting time in steps of 300 seconds can be set via provisioning. If there are active calls, the waiting time starts. If no more calls are active, the update is started.

Alarm/location functions

Alarm/location licence can now be managed via the web interface. Until now, the alarm and messaging functions could only be enabled/disabled via provisioning.

Now there is another setting option in the web interface for each handset:

The overview of the handsets shows which handsets are currently using the alarm/messaging licences.

The system can inform the Alarm server in case of:
