Version 2.6.5
Important Update Information
- COMtrexx VM only: Version 2.4.6 is mandatory for an update to version 2.6.1 or higher.
- Versions 2.6.1 to 2.6.4 were not available on the update server due to extensive changes. As of version 2.6.5, the update is possible via the update server again.
When updating to a version 2.6.x, it may be necessary in some cases to make changes to the configuration. Please refer to the notes in the release notes of version 2.6.1 and higher.
Improvements
VoIP registration
If a provider requests a different registration time with the SIP message 423 Interval Too Brief, this is now applied automatically to the provider configuration.
After a VoIP account has been deregistered, the associated TCP connection is now closed immediately.
Security
Login
Improved security when logging in to the web interface.
COMtrexx Control Center
Improved security when pairing with the COMtrexx Control Center and when verifying the associated credentials.
OpenVPN
Improved security when importing OpenVPN configuration files.
System components
Updated system components close known security vulnerabilities.
Web interface
Improved security of the web interface through stricter validation of inputs, rate limiting and additional security headers.
Certificate for SIPS/SRTP (addendum to version 2.6.1)
Improved security through stronger encryption of the SIP connection. As of version 2.6.1, COMtrexx creates root certificates with a 4096-bit RSA key.
Important:
If the existing certificate for SIPS/SRTP was created in an older software version (up to version 2.4.6), the certificate must be deleted and created again after the update (to version 2.6.1 or higher). Proceed as follows:
- Delete the existing certificate:
Administration > Certificates > SIPS/SRTP internal > select certificate > Delete
SIPS/SRTP is then deactivated automatically. - Activate SIPS/SRTP:
Administration > VoIP > SIPS/SRTP internal > SIPS/SRTP
Activation requires a new certificate to be created. Confirm this with Yes
After a short time, COMtrexx confirms that the certificate has been created. - Restart COMtrexx:
Administration > Maintenance > Update and Restart > Restart of the PBX (Reboot)
Telephones with RTP encryption enabled require the new root certificate. Proceed as follows:
- Provisioned telephones:
Make sure that the old certificate is not contained in manually created provisioning files.
If necessary, start provisioning manually by restarting the telephone. - Telephones that are not provisioned:
Export the new root certificate:
Administration > VoIP > SIPS/SRTP internal > View certificate > Export
Import the certificate into the telephones concerned.
Important: In future software versions (higher than 2.6.5), the old certificates will no longer be supported. Encrypted connections can then no longer be established. Under certain circumstances, it will no longer be possible to make calls.
Bug Fixes
COMuniq ONE
Calls via COMuniq ONE accounts could not be established.
External access (only COMtrexx Next)
When a new token was created in the COMtrexx Control Center, the COMtrexx proxy client crashed.
Holidays (addendum to version 2.6.4)
Functions > Time control > Holidays: An error message was displayed when adding a holiday list. The holidays of the selected federal state were not applied. This bug has already been fixed in version 2.6.4.
Provisioning
Telephones > Assignment: Custom provisioning files could no longer be assigned to the softphones.
Phone number display
For incoming calls from your own local network without a transmitted area code, “00” was placed in front of the phone number instead of the area code, both in the call data list and on the telephone display.
Call forwarding
If a DDI for which call forwarding was set up was deleted, the call forwarding remained active.
Call distribution
Incoming calls to DDI 0 were not signalled. COMtrexx responded with 401 Unauthorized.
VoIP registration
After an update from version 2.4.6 to version 2.6.4, registration was no longer possible with individual providers.
Known bugs in version 2.6.5
E-mail transfer
If, after updating to version 2.6.5, the old firmware (version 2.4.x) is restored (by rebooting), email sending will no longer work. In this case, please contact the Auerswald Support.
Provisioning
Telephones > Provisioning > standard.xml:
An XML error is displayed when opening the file.
