Auerswald Remote Access

Remote maintenance of ITC systems via Internet

With the new Auerswald remote maintenance procedure, ITC systems can now be reliably configured and maintained remotely via the Internet.

The Problem

In many cases, remote access to ITC systems via ISDN dial-in is not possible. If the system has an ISDN connection switched via "Next Generation Network" (NGN) or if external telephone calls are exclusively Voice over IP (VoIP), these systems can only be reached via the Internet. Access can then only be made via a "Virtual Private Network" (VPN) - i.e. a protected Internet connection - or via simple port forwarding and a DynDNS account.

However, both options are often not feasible in practice, as system owners consider remote access to their own network a security risk and therefore do not allow it.

The Solution

With the Auerswald Remote Access (ARA) you can utilise remote configuration of the web-based ITC systems, which bypasses the technical and security relevant problems.
The principle, both the ITC system itself and the specialist dealer can conect via Internet connection to an external server. Then both "meet" in this centralisd connection wihich is classed as the "neutral" zone.

First, the system owner must enable remote maintenance by entering the specific numbers on an extension telephone. The PBX then logs on to the external remote access server. The specialist dealer then logs on to the remote access server with the help of his (Auerswald) access data and finds the approved system here using the relevant serial number. The remote maintenance can now be performed.

With this secure and convenient solution, Auerswald is the only PBX manufacturer to enable remote administration also via a secured access point over the internet.
