New – Firmware update 2.4 for the COMfortel D series

New update for COMfortel D-100 / 110 / 200 / 210 / 400 / 600

Important:

This firmware will only be made available at a later date via the update server URL update.auerswald.de.

Performing an update

1. Save one of the following update server URLs under: Update > Update server URL.

2. Start the update.

What does the new update offer?

With the new release, the following new functions and changes are available in addition to some optimisations:

  • Direct call:
    After picking up the handset or putting it down, a determined phone number is called after a predefined time which can be relevant in dangerous situations, for example, to trigger some kind of alarm.
  • Silent alert:
    Pressing a configured emergency call button on the device sends an alert in the form of a silent notification to other users. This is important, for example, for employees with customers who have a potential for aggression.
  • USB headset:
    From release 2.4A, the use of USB headsets is supported.
  • Voicemail App:
    The voicemail app is now supported for device variants COMfortel D-400 / D-600 in conjunction with Auerswald PBXs (support for COMtrexx from release 1.8.0). Fax messages and voicemails can be conveniently managed with the app. Users of a provisioning PBX do not have to enter credentials. The app is self-provisioning.
  • Function keys:
    Users of the COMfortel D-100, -110, -200, -210, -XT20, -XT20i benefit from a shortcut for function keys: If a key that has not yet been assigned a function is pressed for a long time (long press), the menu for configuring the desired key opens automatically.
    Support for the xml description for function keys will be discontinued in a future release. Please migrate your function keys to the Lua format.
    In the 2nd line of a configured speed dialling key, the stored phone number is now displayed again.
    If an image has been assigned to a speed dialling key, this picture is also displayed during simplified forwarding in the active call.
  • Call listing:
    Users can choose whether calls are logged or not. This is important for publicly accessible devices or in a hotel.
  • Update OpenVPN:
    Caution: The parameter “cipher” has a changed meaning after the update to OpenVPN 2.6 and is no longer supported. Adjustments to frequently used configurations may be necessary.
  • Display:
    During the display of webcam images in standby mode, the switchover to the dialling window takes place automatically while dialling a number. There is no need to press the Home key.
    Images from the SIP header are displayed for both incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Update:
    If the boot process into the updater fails, the reason for the standstill is now displayed.
  • Web interface:
    The “Advanced Information” has been integrated into the firmware and can be accessed in the Help panel by clicking on the question marks behind the settings or on the first aid symbol.
